For just $3.30, we will arrange to plant one native Australian tree on your behalf, which will offset a proportion of the emissions from your order. This tree will also help address many environmental issues of growing concern such as rising salinity, erosion and habitat and biodiversity loss.

How does sending flowers impact the environment?

The general lifecycle of a bunch of flowers can be simplified into 4 simple steps.

1. Planting and Growing the flowers
2. Harvesting and distributing to local wholesalers and florists
3. Preparing and arranging your special arrangement

Carbon Neutral currently plant an average of 6-7 trees per tonne of CO₂. In the 350-450 mm rainfall area of WA, Carbon Neutral estimates the number of trees required per tonne of CO₂ varies from 4 - 10 depending on location, species of tree, soil type and type of planting. If Carbon Neutral could plant karri trees in 1000mm rainfall areas, it could be more than a tonne of CO₂ per tree**!

Re-vegetation has many recorded benefits including increasing soil stability and reducing wind and water erosion. It has also been researched that trees can reduce (water) recharge into the landscape, lowering the groundwater level and combating water logging.
